Road to Epic

Introducing a massive endeavor on my part. The Road to Epic is going to be a year-long project towards fine-tuning select areas of my art, with the styles and standards of Epic Games in mind. These will include 2D lighting and rendering, general anatomy, ZBrush, and knowledge of the Unreal Development Kit (UDK).
I will be producing studies, concepts, game renders and downloadable content as the year rolls out.
More information and weekly updates are available at [link] DeviantArt will get finished pieces when they happen. So far, I expect to get one complex picture done every month with a handful of smaller pieces that go with it.

Why Epic Games?
No profound reasoning. I'm just a big fan of their games and work ethic. Plus, I'm most familiar with their art pipeline and dev tools.
The skills gained (non engine-specific) will be applicable to any other top-tier studios such as Valve, iD, and Insomniac, just to name a few.

This will continue for the full year, and it may push away people who really only care about the fan art I do.
I have every intention of maintaining the humor I integrate into every picture, but it's just going to be a lot less Mario and a lot more original. That's not to say there won't be any fan art at all. I still enjoy making my renditions of classic game and cartoon icons, but now you'll just see them in a different format.

This is going to be a hugely educational and productive year. I hope you stick around, offer up some constructive criticism as updates come along, and enjoy the ride.
